Incredible scenery . . . Crystal clear air . . . Ideal summer conditions . . . Peace . . . Solitude . . . Room to breath and dream . . . A chance to step back in time to a slower, quieter, world. There's a lot for everyone - trout and salmon fishing (best in the world), dozens of pristine beaches, hiking trails, kayaking, 2 golf courses, cultural tours, fossil hunting, and much more.

Fishing - There's a lot for everyone. Day trips with professional fishermen/lobstermen, trout and salmon fishing (in season). And, of course, you can fish in the ocean anytime without a license.

Beaches - There are dozens of pristine beaches within minutes of the farm. Right here in our village of Pomquet, we have a beautiful, managed beach. It's an official Provincial Beach Park with boardwalk, changing rooms & toilets. This park has a wonderful dune system known as a "building beach", one of the few in Canada. That means, the dunes are getting bigger, rather than being worn down. -- Now, that's a pleasant thought, isn't it?

Hiking - There are wonderful hiking trails nearby, and more being built all the time. A friend of ours, Peter Jackson, is developing a Dream Trail that runs right along the coast.

Golf - Arthur plays every Thursday at the Antigonish Country Club, an 18 hole course open to the public. It's quite challenging, I understand. There's another small course, right on the rim of Antigonish Harbour which will give you a taste of how golf used to be played in Scotland. And on Cape Breton Island, you'll find many very fine courses including the one at Ingonish Beach, rated #2 in all of Canada.

Antigonish town - Ten minutes from the farm is the wonderful Scottish town of Antigonish. The town itself is only about 8,000 people, but it's the County Seat, so has a combined population (town and county) of about 18,000. Antigonish is the home of St. Francis Xavier University, an excellent school. There's a large, modern hospital, a radio station, a sports arena, good shops and restaurants, and a Farmer's Market. New this year is the 19 million dollar Millenium Civic Center with its pools, ice rinks, indoor track, fitness center, dance center, concert halls, and IT center.

We advise all our guests to spend a little time in Antigonish. Go into the shops, and talk to the people. You'll rediscover what a successful small town is all about. It's a terrific place to call home.

Evening Entertainment - You'll enjoy live theatre and cabarets in Antigonish town. Be sure to see at least one production of

Festival Antigonish - Located at the Bauer Theatre. Frequent concerts often feature highland dancers, bagpipes, and fiddlers.

Touring The Local Area - Northeastern Nova Scotia abounds in fabulous views, unspoiled coves and fishing villages. Take a day to do the CABOT TRAIL, Cape Breton's magnificent coastal road, described by Alexander Graham Bell as "the most spectacular drive in North America:, or spend an afternoon touring the famous "Marine Drive" along the Eastern Shore to Halifax.

ANTIGONISH HIGHLAND GAMES WEEK - July 16th ,17th and 18th with the major heavy events the 11th, 12th, and 13th. These are the oldest Highland Games in North America. If you wish to come during Highland Games week, please book us, and your accommodations, very early.

Evening Activities - Ten minutes from the farm is the wonderful Scottish town of Antigonish. There you'll enjoy live theatre and cabarets. Frequent concerts feature Scottish music with highland dancers, bagpipes and fiddlers. Before dinner and the theatre, you might take a bottle of wine, some pate (locally made) and head to the beach to watch the sunset - just another pleasurable interlude in a perfect summer day.
