Important considerations when shopping for a horse.
Where to buy your horse. This decision is vital -
If you wanted to buy a quality puppy, you'd look for a quality breeder, one with a proven reputation for sound, healthy, quality stock, and a breeder with a reputation for integrity in his business. - The same attention to reputation is much more important when shopping for a horse. --
Beaver Dam Farm has a solid reputation for integrity, quality
Fjordhorses, and an unmatched ability to match horses to owners.
FRANKNESS, HONESTY & EXPERIENCE --- We are scrupulously honest when describing our sale horses. . . . .Our job is to make good matches. After each sale, we want to have made a new friend, and know that our horses have gone to suitable homes.
It's as important for the horse to have the right owner as it is for the purchaser to have the right horse.
In order to find you the right horse, we ask a lot of questions.
To find you the right horse, we need as much information as possible about you and your family. Since both people and horses are highly individualistic, we make sure we know both you and our horses.
When you buy a Fjord from Beaver Dam Farm, we will be right here for you!
Call us anytime for advice on any aspect of the horse. -- If, sometime in the future, you need to sell that horse, then chances are we can help you. Only our advanced old age (sometime in the future- certainly not now!) might prevent us from taking the horse back and finding him a new home.
It’s easy to purchase a horse from Beaver Dam Farm.
-- We arrange the transportation; unless you wish to do it yourself. We've used the same shippers for years, and are well satified in their reliability, expertise, and rates.
There is no duty bringing horses from Canada to the U.S. -- And there is no tax.

OCTANE - 2 yr. old gelding, sired by Orka, imported German stallion, and out of Maite, imported German mare. -- Octane is beautiful inside and out. He’s a dressage prospect . . . No, he's a dressage certainty. He’s tall, long-legged, has a lot of elegance, and is a lovely horse in all respects.
Octane has a lovely head, huge eyes, and magnificent Fjord stripes. -- His temperament is a solid “10” --- No kidding! --- He’s a doll to work with. He belongs to BDF, and has been in our Young Horse Program. -- He lives out, but is brought into the stable daily for handling, manners training, and age-appropriate training. He’s had a saddle and harness on his back, and been free lunged with the tack.
A really nice horse I can heartily recommend.

ORION - 3 yr. old gelding sired by Orka, imported German stallion. Dam is a granddaughter of the Dutch Elite stallion, Myrstein. -- Orion is a sweetheart. He’s kind, and is slow and steady. He’s an easy-going, appealing horse. -- He’s good looking, but not elegant like his half brother, Octane. Orion was started under saddle this spring, and his riding training is going exceptionally easy thanks to all the work that’s been done with him in BDF’s Young Horse Program. $7500 - SOLD

FLORIDA STATE CHAMPION -
Preliminary ADT (Arena Driving Trials)
FRF BARNICKEL - 4 yr. old Gjest son, out of Ruth, imported Dutch mare, daughter of Elite stallion, Myrstein. -- If you want to compete and win in CDEs, Barni will do it for you. -- Barni has been trained by a master, Bob Giles. He has a soft mouth. He bends the best. He’s forward and bold. He’s supple, obedient and self confident. He’s amazing for such a youngster. Barni has already done two Florida driving shows. One a CDE, and the other an ADT (Arena Driving Trial). In both competitions he came home with 2nd place. How wonderful is that for (at that time), not yet 4 yr. old. Since that time, Barni has been working in ridden dressage, and is doing very well as you can see in photo below. Barni is now 4 1/2 years old, and showing increased enthuksiasm for competition.
wonderfully fluid movement under saddle & driving
Barni likes people, work, and attention. -- He’s a super good horse, with tremendous athletic potential. Dresage judge’s comments . . . - “That horse has great gaits”. -- At Barni’s first competition, I navigated on the marathon. Coming out of one obstacle, the obstacle judge yelled after us, “He moves better than any Fjord I’ve ever seen.” -- Barni also rides, and will be getting a lot of riding training this summer. He was started by a good dressage rider from Germany. $12,500 -

KONGA - Spectacular 7 yr. old gelding. He's a GRANDSON of GJEST --
An offering like this doesn't come up every day. -- Ideal age, wonderful breeding, superb conformation, TALL, a truly great temperament. When Konga arrived at Beaver Dam Farm for training and sale, the first thing we noticed about him was that he was unusually friendly, even for a Fjordhorse. -- He likes people a lot!! -- The next thing we noticed about Konga was how easy he was to train, and how polite he was in hand. --
Konga has had one owner. He was bred by a horse vet and owned by him until he came to Beaver Dam Farm in June of this year. -- He had practically no saddle training when he arrived, but what he did have was solid "in hand" training. Dr. John saw to that! -- This early training in manners and obedience made our job of training him to saddle much easier. --
Within 7 weeks of arriving, Konga was in a spectacular Musical Show we put on for the public. -- Konga did a "pas de deux" ride with another gelding. It involved comedy routines, cantering, and precision riding. The music was "Rockin' Robin by the Jackson Five.
Konga spent the entire summer in our riding training program. he logged a lot of miles on the trail with a variety of young riders. On the trail, all the horses were put over small, natural jumps. -- Konga also did some low stadium fences. -- He was schooled daily in dressage. --
KONGA was started in driving training by master driver, Bob Giles, from Florida who was at Beaver Dam Farm for two months this summer. Bob worked Konga in longlines, down the road, through the fields and woods. Bob's comment . . . "I would love to compete this horse in Florida."
Konga is spectacularly healthy and sound! -- He's had the best possible start in life. His horse vet owner, Dr. John, has seen to that. -- A wonderful 7 yr. old gelding with serious potential for various disciplines including dressage, combined driving - Very honestly, this horse has the physical capability and the temperament to do just about anything. ------offered for sale at $11,000
