This girl is riding about 1/2 way up the hayfield which is over a mile from the stable - At the top of the hayfield, there are trails through the woods which go for another 1/2 mile or so still on farm property, but when you leave BDF property, you're on woods roads and property owned by Ducks Unlimited -  Hard to describe, the trails just go on seemingly forever . . . .

#2  VACATION with your Horse(s) at Beaver Dam Farm -  Bring your horses and enjoy a great equine facility in a wonderful part of the world. -- Beaver Dam Farm is a full- facility equine resort. We have great stabling, excellent pastures with run-in sheds, and good fencing. Thee are miles of trails of every sort, mown grass trails, through the woods and on logging roads. Most of the trails are suitable for both riding and driving. We have hills and natural water crossings. There are natural and constructed obstacle courses and jumps - Training rings - A wonderful 40 x 100 meter grass dressage arena – Beaver Dam Farm is an ideal place to train and condition your horses. The beach is 15 min. by horse trailer from the farm gate, and is lovely to ride on.

French Cooking Lessons with Mme Helene Amiable from Paris.   Helene is an old friend of Carol and Arthur’s from their 10 year stay in France.  Mme. Amiable is returning to visit Beaver Dam Farm for the summer. 




Nature Walks on Pomquet Beach with Bob Bancroft, Nova Scotia’s most well-known naturalists.




Fitness Classes with Ed Mattie who will work with you individually for health, strength, and agility.




Painting Lessons with professional artist and teacher, Ed Mattie who can teach you to paint a very nice picture in a very short time.  Ed will also do custom portraits of you and your horses and your farm.  Just bring along some photos. 




Fishing with a Nova Scotia fisherman -  Several of our friends are fishermen.  They’re charming and knowledgeable men and you’re sure to enjoy your day on the water with any of them.




Arthur’s ART GALLERY at Beaver Dam Farm -  Arthur is a professional painter.  He’s been painting all his life, but now in retirement from the leather business, he has had time to get really serious about his art.  He was the leading painter at a large art show this year at the UTATA GALLERY in Windsor, Nova Scotia.  --  The gallery at Beaver Dam Farm has been called “a jewel of an art gallery” -  You’ll understand why when you visit.  ---  Arthur specializes in local landscapes, and he uses an unique method of mixing his paint with sand from the beach.  --

YOUNG HORSE PROGRAM -
We’ve run this program for many years and with great success.  Basically, it’s for owners of young Fjordhorses who want their youngster to grow up in an optimal and natural environment that combines the benefits of living outside with the benefits of daily handling.  Read lots more by going to the Young Horse Program on this site.




Where we're located  -   Our 350 acre farm is in Antigonish, Nova Scotia on the northern coast of the province -  Precisely, we’re on the Northumberland Strait, located half way between Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton Island.  --  We’re out in the middle of  gorgeous countryside,  yet not at all isolated from the amenities of a university town.   Beaver Dam Farm is 15 min. from the university town of Antgonish where there are shops, gourmet restaurants, golf, beaches, fishing, hiking, Gaelic music, professional  theatre, and art galleries.




OUR BACKGROUND - For the last 18 years, we’ve run a successful equine tourism program called – Nova Scotia Riding & Driving Vacations.   These riding & driving vacations had great reviews from people who attended, and of course those people told others who also wanted to come.    Each year we had  guests  from all over  North America and several  Europe countries come to enjoy a horse vacation at Beaver Dam Farm in Nova Scotia.




We’re Carol & Arthur Rivoire.
Our farm and business is Beaver Dam Farm Fjords II, Ltd.  We’ve been importing, breeding, training and selling Fjordhorses for 30 years -   ever since 1979. ---  During those years, we’ve imported over 100 Fjordhorses from Europe.  --  We’ve bred 65 of our own mares, and had 65 healthy foals born on the farm  ---  During those years, we’ve sold hundreds of good Fjordhorses to some very satisfied new owners.
